India sports highlights today from Archery World Cup Puebla results to All India Public Sector Badminton in Bhubaneswar

Indian Sports Wrap: Ojas, Pragati Star in Puebla

The Indian sports wrap April 8 delivered action across continents as Indian athletes made headlines in archery, badminton, shooting, and golf. The spotlight fell on Ojas Pragati Puebla archery performances at the Archery World Cup Stage‑1 in Mexico, while the Bhubaneswar badminton tournament began with the All India Public Sector Badminton event drawing over 200 participants.

Archery World Cup Puebla Results: Ojas Pragati Puebla Archery Lead India’s Charge

At Puebla, Ojas Deotale and Pragati emerged as India’s best performers in qualification. Ojas shot 705 to finish 12th, while Pragati scored 694 to be placed sixth among women.

Scores – Compound Qualification

Men (Individual):

Ojas Deotale – 705 (12th)

Abhishek Verma – 702 (16th)

Sahil Jadhav – 701 (18th)

Kushal Dalal – 700 (19th)

Women (Individual):

Pragati – 694 (6th)

V. Jyothi Surekha – 691 (10th)

Madhura Dhamangaonkar – 689 (15th)

Aditi Swami – 689 (17th)

Team Events:

India Men – 1st (2108)

India Women – 1st (2074)

Mixed Team – 4th (1399)

All four Indian men crossed the 700 mark, underlining India’s strength in compound archery at the Archery World Cup Puebla results stage.

Bhubaneswar Badminton Tournament: All India Public Sector Badminton Begins

Back home, the Bhubaneswar badminton tournament marked the start of the prestigious All India Public Sector Badminton competition hosted by National Aluminium Company Limited at the KIIT Biju Patnaik Indoor Stadium. The four-day event features more than 200 players from 14 public sector units, coordinated by the All India Public Sector Sports Control Board.

Major PSUs in participation include Coal India, SAIL, BHEL, Oil India, FCI, RBI, LIC, ESIC and others, making this one of the biggest PSU badminton gatherings in the country. This adds another key highlight to the India sports highlights today list.

Shooting World Cup: Mixed Day for Indian Shooters

At the ISSF World Cup, Mukesh Nelavalli finished 14th (579) in men’s 10m air pistol qualification after his earlier world-record mixed team gold. Ujjawal Malik placed 22nd (577) and Pramod finished 39th (574). In women’s 25m pistol, Rhythm Sangwan (292) and Divya T (291) stayed in medal contention after the precision round.

Golf Updates: Bhullar Eyes IGPL Success, Khalin Leads Andhra Open

Gaganjeet Bhullar expressed confidence ahead of the IGPL Invitational in Mauritius. Meanwhile, Khalin Joshi moved into the lead at the Andhra Open with a total of 6-under 136, edging past Dhruv Sheoran.
