BCCI Unveils India’s 2026-27 Home Season; Bengaluru to Host International Cricket Again

Mumbai: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced India’s men’s international home schedule for the 2026-27 season, featuring a packed calendar of 22 matches across 17 cities. The announcement also marks the return of international cricket to the M Chinnaswamy Stadium for the first time since October 2024.

Four visiting teams — the West Indies, Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe and Australia — will tour India across formats, promising an action-packed season for fans nationwide.

The home campaign begins with West Indies touring India from September 27 to October 17 for three ODIs followed by five T20Is.

The ODIs will be played in Thiruvananthapuram, Guwahati and New Chandigarh, while the T20Is are scheduled in Lucknow, Ranchi, Indore, Hyderabad and Bengaluru.

India will then host Sri Lanka for a white-ball series from December 13 to 27, featuring three ODIs and three T20Is. The ODIs will take place in Delhi, Bengaluru and Ahmedabad, followed by T20Is in Rajkot, Cuttack and Pune.
Zimbabwe will visit India at the start of the new year for a three-match ODI series from January 3 to 9, with matches slated for Kolkata, Hyderabad and Mumbai.

The season will conclude with the highly anticipated Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia from January 21 to March 3. The five-Test series will be played in Nagpur, Chennai, Guwahati, Ranchi and Ahmedabad, with the Barsapara Cricket Stadium set to host a Test match for the first time.

Barabati to Host India–Sri Lanka T20I

The historic Barabati Stadium will host the second T20I between the India national cricket team and the Sri Lanka national cricket team on December 24, 2026, as part of Sri Lanka’s tour of India. The match is scheduled to begin at 7 PM.

The T20I leg of the series starts in Rajkot on December 22 before moving to Cuttack, with the final match to be played in Pune on December 27. The announcement has generated excitement among cricket fans in Odisha, as Barabati once again prepares to witness international action.

The venue last hosted an international match on December 9, 2025, when India defeated the South Africa national cricket team by 101 runs in a T20I.
