Indore: India’s historic ODI series defeat against New Zealand has ignited a storm of criticism from cricket fans, with head coach Gautam Gambhir bearing the brunt of the backlash. Amid the gloom, Virat Kohli emerged as a rare bright spot, scoring 93, 23 and a commanding 124 in the three-match series. However, his efforts were not enough to prevent another home series loss being added to Gambhir’s record.
The frustration spilled over into the stands as well. During the post-match presentation at Indore, chants critical of the head coach were reportedly heard from sections of the crowd, reflecting the growing discontent among supporters.

While no official decisions have been announced, significant changes—both in the playing group and the management—cannot be ruled out.
