Indian racing driver Kush Maini is set to experience a current-generation Formula 1 car for the first time as he joins Alpine for the post-season Young Driver Test at the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi.
The highly anticipated test is scheduled for next Tuesday, just two days after the 2025 Formula 1 World Champion is crowned on the same circuit. The session marks a major milestone for Maini, who has been steadily rising through the ranks of global motorsport.
Alpine confirmed the development, stating that Maini will participate in the official post-season running immediately after the Formula 2 weekend concludes. This will be his debut outing in the latest F1 machinery during an official Formula One session.
Maini’s inclusion in the test underscores the strong impression he has made during his Formula 2 campaign and his continued association with the Alpine driver development programme. The opportunity is expected to provide invaluable mileage and serve as a critical step toward a potential future in Formula 1.
With this test, the young Indian driver moves closer to his long-term dream of securing an F1 seat — a moment many motorsport fans in India and abroad will be watching closely.
