Bhubaneswar: Marco Bezzecchi ended the 2025 MotoGP season in style, storming to victory at the Valencian Community Grand Prix in Valencia and giving Aprilia its first-ever back-to-back wins in premier-class racing. Racing at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo, Bezzecchi led from lights to flag, proving that his late-season form is more than a flash — it’s a full blaze .
A Pole to Remember
Qualifying on Saturday, Bezzecchi laid down a stunning lap of 1:28.809, breaking the Cheste circuit record in the process. He edged out Alex Márquez by a hair — just 0.026 seconds — to earn pole for both the sprint and the main race. The 27-year-old admitted, “I had a lot of fun in that lap,” as he secured his fifth pole of the season.
Dominance in the Race
When the lights went out, Bezzecchi nailed the start, took the holeshot, and never looked back. Even when his teammate Raúl Fernández closed in lap after lap, the Italian kept his cool, riding with precision and confidence. In the end, Aprilia celebrated a 1–2 finish, with Fernández in second.
Meanwhile, Fabio Di Giannantonio (Ducati) made a bold late move to overtake Pedro Acosta (KTM) and claim the third spot on the podium — ensuring Ducati kept its remarkable streak of 88 consecutive race podiums intact.
Drama, Highs & Lows
The race was far from quiet. On the warm-up lap itself, Franco Morbidelli crashed and badly injured his hand. Add to that the disappointing news for Jorge Martín, the reigning champion: Aprilia pulled him out as a precaution, citing concerns over his recovery from earlier injuries.
Then there’s Francesco “Pecco” Bagnaia: his day ended in heartbreak after crashing out on the opening lap — marking a fifth straight retirement for him this season.
A Celebration with Heart
After crossing the finish line, Bezzecchi didn’t just pump his fist — he knelt beside his bike as though proposing, in a symbolic gesture of love and loyalty to his Aprilia. He later said: “I had a lot of fun … I couldn’t imagine a better way to finish the season.”
Why This Win Matters
1. Historic for Aprilia: Never before in MotoGP has Aprilia pulled off back-to-back victories — this marks a milestone.
2. Momentum for 2026: With Bezzecchi riding this hot, and Aprilia clearly dialed in, they might be more than just contenders next season.
3. A statement of resilience: Valencia returns to the calendar after being skipped last year due to flooding, making this emotional win all the more meaningful.
Bezzecchi in His Own Words
> “I had a lot of fun … super close, always getting closer lap by lap,” Bezzecchi reflected after the race, admitting Fernández was breathing down his neck till the very end.
Reflecting on his season, he said: “We expect to be up there, though every year is a different story in the world of sport.”
Marco Bezzecchi’s triumphant Valencia finish isn’t just a race win — it’s a bold signal. If this is how Aprilia ends its season, imagine how they’ll start the next.
