[Watch]Heartfelt Gesture By PM Modi Toward Injured Cricketer Goes Viral At Team Felicitation

Bhubaneswar:

PM’s Personal Touch Wins Hearts
Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s warm gesture toward injured Indian women’s cricket player Pratika Rawal has gone viral, drawing widespread praise on social media. During a felicitation event for the World Cup–winning Indian women’s team at his residence in New Delhi, the Prime Minister noticed Rawal seated in a wheelchair and personally served her food, ensuring she was comfortable and included in the celebration.

Celebrations At The PM Residence
The reception was held to honor the team’s historic World Cup triumph. Players, coaching staff, and members of the BCCI gathered for the meet-and-greet, which blended formal acknowledgments with informal interactions. Head coach Amol Muzumdar and team mentor Mithun Manhas were also present as the Prime Minister congratulated the athletes on their achievement.

Team Gifts PM A Signed Jersey
As part of the ceremony, the players presented Modi with a special team jersey signed by all squad members. The jersey displayed “NAMO” on the back, symbolizing appreciation from the team. Captain Harmanpreet Kaur recalled meeting the Prime Minister in 2017 after a tough tournament and said that returning with a trophy this time made the moment even more meaningful.

PM Modi Praises Team’s Resilience And India’s Love For Cricket
While addressing the players, Modi highlighted how deeply cricket is woven into India’s cultural fabric. He noted that every victory lifts the nation’s spirit, while every setback is felt collectively. He applauded the team’s determination, discipline, and role in inspiring young athletes across the country.

Lighter Moments At The Event
Beyond formalities, the event also saw several lighthearted exchanges. The Prime Minister spoke with all players individually—chatting with Deepti Sharma about her viral Hanuman tattoo and responding with humor when Harleen Deol asked him about his skincare routine.
