The excitement is building as India and Australia prepare to face off in a blockbuster white-ball series starting Sunday. The tour will feature a three-match ODI series followed by five T20Is, with both teams fielding strong line-ups and big names returning to action.
India to begin with ODIs under Gill’s leadership
The Shubman Gill-led Indian team will kick off the series with ODIs, while Suryakumar Yadav will lead the T20I squad. The series holds special importance as senior players Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli could be making their final white-ball appearance on Australian soil.
According to Cricket Australia, more than 1,75,000 tickets have already been sold across venues, reflecting the growing anticipation among fans.
Photo-op highlights friendly rivalry
On Friday, India’s Nitish Kumar Reddy and Dhruv Jurel joined Australia’s Mitchell Starc and Travis Head for a photo session in front of a giant poster displaying iconic moments between the two cricketing powerhouses.
“We’re expecting some really good cricket over the next few days,” Travis Head said. “Both teams have had strong training sessions, and the conditions here at Perth Stadium are excellent. It’s a great venue to start the series, and both squads are full of quality players.”
Axar Patel praises atmosphere
