Rashid Khan, Afghanistan‘s star spinner, entered record books by becoming the first bowler from his country to take 200 wickets in One Day Internationals (ODIs). The milestone was achieved during the ongoing first ODI between Afghanistan and Bangladesh at Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi.
Rashid needed just one wicket to reach the landmark. Meanwhile, apart from this landmark, he also became the 2nd-fastest spinner to 200 ODI wickets in terms of matches.
Rashid ended with figures worth 3/38 from his 10 overs. His spell helped the Afghans bowl Bangladesh out for 221. In response, the Afghans managed 226/5 to seal the contest and take a 1-0 lead in the series.

As mentioned, Rashid reached the milestone of 200 ODI wickets in just 115 matches, making him the second-fastest spinner to do so.
He is only Pakistan’s Saqlain Mushtaq, who achieved the feat in 104 matches.
With this feat, Rashid managed to go ahead of legendary spinners like Australia’s Shane Warne (125 matches), England’s Adil Rashid (137 matches), and India’s Anil Kumble (147 matches).

Former Pakistan ace spinner Saqlain Mushtaq owns the record as the fastest spinner to 200 ODI wickets. Saqlain achieved the mark in 104 matches. He ended his career with 288 ODI wickets from 169 matches at 21.78. He took six fifers and 11 four-fers in his ODI career.
