The 40th edition of the National Junior Athletics Championships is all set to begin at Kalinga Stadium from October 10 to 14, 2025. Over five days, India’s best junior athletes will compete in a range of track and field events, making it one of the most anticipated junior athletics meets of the year.

Packed Schedule Across Five Days

The championship will feature sprints, middle- and long-distance races, hurdles, jumps, and throws for Under-16, Under-18, and Under-20 categories. Multi-event competitions such as decathlon, heptathlon, and pentathlon will test the all-round abilities of the participants. The first day will kick off with long-distance races and 100m heats, while the final day will conclude with steeplechase, 4x400m relays, and final field events. Both boys and girls will compete in age-specific categories, showcasing talent across the nation.

Platform for Emerging Talent

Organizers expect athletes from various states to deliver strong performances, using the championship as a platform to gain national-level exposure. The meet will also serve as a preparation ground for upcoming international events, giving young athletes the chance to impress selectors and coaches.

Fan Engagement and Support

With a five-day schedule packed with medley relays, 4x100m and 4x400m team events, fans can look forward to thrilling races and close finishes. The Odisha Athletics Association has ensured that all arrangements are in place, from athlete facilities to medical support, making it a safe and competitive environment.

As the championships get underway tomorrow, spectators can anticipate exciting performances from India’s rising stars, promising a showcase of speed, strength, and endurance at Kalinga Stadium, Bhubaneswar.
