Chennai: Dabang Delhi K.C. continued their dominant run in the Pro Kabaddi League 2025, clinching a tense 29-26 victory over Jaipur Pink Panthers at the SDAT Multi-Purpose Indoor Stadium in Chennai on Monday.
With this win, the table-toppers completed a season double over the two-time champions, further strengthening their grip on the top spot.
Defenders Shine in a Low-Scoring Contest
In a match where defence overshadowed attack, Sandeep led Delhi’s charge with a High Five, collecting seven tackle points. Ashu Malik once again delivered under pressure, contributing eight raid points to his team’s total.
For Jaipur, both Reza Mirbagheri and Deepanshu Khatri recorded High Fives, while Aryan Kumar chipped in with four crucial tackles. Despite their defensive grit, the Pink Panthers couldn’t edge ahead in the closing stages.
Early Exchanges: Tight Battle Between Defences
Ashu Malik opened Delhi’s account in style with a Super Raid, giving his side a three-point lead early on. Jaipur quickly responded through Deepanshu Khatri’s ankle hold, with their defence keeping them neck-and-neck during the first quarter, which ended 6-5 in their favour.
As the match progressed, the tempo slowed, with both sides trading defensive blows. Sandeep stood firm for Delhi with four tackles in the first half, but it was Reza Mirbagheri’s pair of Super Tackles that handed Jaipur a narrow 13-12 halftime lead.
Second Half: All-Out Turns the Tide for Delhi
The second half saw the defenders continue their dominance. Vinay gave Jaipur a brief lead with a two-point raid, but Ashu Malik struck back with a two-point raid of his own, inflicting the first All Out of the game.
That momentum shift helped Delhi surge ahead, as Sandeep completed his High Five and Ajinkya Pawar added valuable raid points to build a five-point cushion. Deepanshu Khatri responded with his own High Five, marking a rare game featuring three defenders achieving that feat.
Final Moments: Delhi Hold Their Nerve
With the game hanging in the balance, Jaipur launched a late comeback. Aashish Kumar and Aryan Kumar produced successive Super Tackles to reduce the deficit to just one point.
However, Neeraj Narwal held firm under pressure, tackling Ali Samadi in a crucial moment before sealing the result with the final raid of the match. Dabang Delhi walked away 29-26 winners, extending their reign at the top of the table.
