India added two more medals to its tally at the World Para Athletics Championships on Thursday, with reigning Paralympic champion Dharambir Nain securing silver in club throw and Atul Kaushik earning bronze in discus throw.
Dharambir settles for silver
Dharambir, who clinched gold at the 2024 Paris Paralympics, produced a best effort of 29.71m in the men’s Club Throw F51 event. He narrowly missed out on gold as Serbia’s Aleksandar Radisic took top spot with 30.36m. Uladzislau Hryb, competing as a Neutral Paralympic Athlete, finished third with 28.70m.
The Indian thrower had also won a bronze at the 2024 edition of the championships and continued his consistent run at the global stage.
Atul claims bronze in discus
In another highlight of the day, Atul Kaushik secured bronze in the men’s discus throw, giving India its second medal of the session.
The double podium finish further strengthens India’s standing in the competition, with athletes continuing to deliver promising performances in multiple events.
