India And Australia Create History With Record-Breaking 781 Runs In Women’s ODI

Bhubaneswar: In a match that will be remembered as one of the most explosive contests in women’s cricket, India and Australia combined to produce a staggering 781 runs in the third One-Day International. The clash, played on Saturday, rewrote history books and highlighted the growing firepower in women’s cricket.

Leading the charge for India was Smriti Mandhana, who delivered a breathtaking knock. She scored a record-breaking century off just 50 balls — the fastest ever by an Indian woman in ODIs. Mandhana also smashed the fastest fifty by an Indian woman in the format, setting the stage for a high-octane chase.

Australia, however, had already piled on a mammoth 412 runs, powered by dominant batting performances across the top order. India responded with aggression, reaching 369 runs, but eventually fell short by 43 runs.

Despite the defeat, India’s fightback kept the spectators on the edge of their seats. Mandhana’s heroics ensured that the game will be remembered as a milestone moment in the evolution of women’s cricket, showcasing both fearless batting and record-shattering feats.

The victory handed Australia a 2-1 series win, but for India, Mandhana’s innings provided a silver lining in a contest that emphasized their rising stature in the global arena.
