INDIA CRUSH UAE WITH HISTORIC 4.3-OVER CHASE IN ASIA CUP 2025

India Deliver Ruthless Statement Of Intent

Dubai: India showcased absolute dominance in their Asia Cup 2025 opener, dismantling hosts United Arab Emirates with both bat and ball to seal a record-breaking victory at the Dubai International Stadium on Wednesday. The Men in Blue chased down UAE’s modest 58-run target in just 4.3 overs, marking the fastest T20I chase in terms of overs and one of the most emphatic wins in cricket history.

Bowlers Set Up The Rout

The demolition began with India’s bowlers, who exploited the conditions to perfection. Kuldeep Yadav spun a web around the UAE batting line-up, grabbing 4 wickets for just 7 runs, while all-rounder Shivam Dube delivered a career-best 3 for 4. UAE never found momentum, collapsing to 57 all out in 17.3 overs—a new low for the side in Asia Cup competition.

Abhishek Sharma, Gill Finish In A Flash

In reply, India’s aggressive approach left no room for a UAE comeback. Young opener Abhishek Sharma smashed a quickfire 30 off 16 balls, setting the tone for the chase. Partner Shubman Gill anchored from the other end with an unbeaten 20, steering India to victory with 91 balls to spare.

Historic Win Sets The Tone

This crushing victory is now etched in T20I history as the fastest chase by overs, further underlining India’s status as tournament favorites. The combination of disciplined bowling, fearless batting, and sharp fielding has sent a strong message to opponents ahead of tougher contests in the Asia Cup.
