Shivam Beats Neeraj Chopra’s Javelin Record!

Rajgir :New Champion Emerges

Shivam Lohakare, just 20 years old, shattered Neeraj Chopra’s Services record with a phenomenal 84.31m throw at the 74th Inter Services Athletics Championship.

Breaking Barriers

With this throw, Shivam eclipsed Chopra’s longstanding 83.80m mark from 2018, marking himself as a rising force in Indian athletics.

Rapid Rise

His record was no fluke—this was the fourth time this season that Shivam crossed the 80m mark, proving his consistency at the highest level.

Global Recognition

Despite the meet’s non-certified status, the javelin world quickly took notice. Neeraj Chopra himself cheered Shivam, sharing, “Exciting times for Indian javelin. Keep pushing the limits!” on Instagram.Lohakare is now the second-youngest Indian to break the 80m barrier, following only Chopra, who did so at age 18.

Shivam’s star keeps rising—he threw 80.95m in Pune and secured a silver at Bhubaneswar’s Continental Tour Bronze event. “I want to make my country proud, just like Neeraj bhaiya,” Shivam said after his win.

Growing Legacy

With 16 Indians now in the 80m club, and eight joining in the last three years, javelin throwing in India has never looked brighter.
