Katowice, Poland– Luka Doncic continues to etch his name in the record books for Slovenia’s senior national team. The Los Angeles Lakers star finished with 39 points, 9 assists, and 8 rebounds in a recent game against France in Katowice, Poland, surpassing the 1,000-point mark in official competitions with Slovenia.

Here is a breakdown of his scoring performances in each tournament he’s played:

FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament 2024 (Piraeus, Greece)

Despite not being able to lead Slovenia to back-to-back Olympic appearances, Doncic still showed greatness. Over three games in Piraeus, he collected 83 points, averaging 27.7 points, 9.7 rebounds, and 8.3 assists per game.

FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 (Okinawa, Japan & Manila, Philippines)

Doncic participated in his first-ever FIBA Basketball World Cup in 2023. He was in tremendous scoring form in both Okinawa and Manila, scoring a total of 216 points over 8 matchups. He started the tournament hot with a 37-point showcase to beat Venezuela and concluded by averaging 27.0 per game.

FIBA Basketball World Cup European Qualifiers 2023

To ensure his country didn’t miss the global stage again, Doncic took part in four qualifying games. He tallied 100 points in those matches, with his best scoring outcome being a 31-point effort on the road in Sweden.

FIBA EuroBasket 2022 (Berlin, Germany)

It’s fitting that Doncic hit the 1,000-point mark against France, as he had registered his personal EuroBasket high against the same team with a 47-point scoring performance. Slovenia’s campaign in that tournament ended in the Quarter-Finals in Berlin against Poland, but Doncic still delivered with 182 total points, averaging 26.0 points per game.

Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games (Tokyo, Japan)

Luka played his first Olympics in Tokyo, where he delivered a scoring masterpiece. He started the tournament with a 48-point game against Argentina and finished with a total of 143 points, averaging 23.8 per game for Slovenia.

FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament 2021 (Kaunas, Lithuania)

As the de facto leader of the national team, Doncic propelled Slovenia to an unbeaten 4-0 run to secure their first-ever Olympic berth. In Kaunas, he scored a total of 85 points, including 31 in a triple-double to break Lithuania’s hopes.

FIBA EuroBasket 2017 (Istanbul, Turkey & Helsinki, Finland)

Even at just 18 years old, it was clear that Doncic would become a scoring machine. Playing next to Goran Dragic, he finished with 129 total points over nine appearances. He played a decisive role in the team’s historic gold-medal run, scoring 27 points in the Quarter-Finals.
