Haryana Dominate Sub Junior National Boxing Championships, Sweep Boys’ and Girls’ Team Titles

PC- ANI

Haryana’s young pugilists delivered a masterclass in the ring, claiming top honours in both boys’ and girls’ divisions at the 4th Sub Junior (U-15) National Boxing Championships held at Galgotias University. Their blend of power, precision, and consistency saw them outclass Services to secure a rare double team triumph.

The week-long event drew some of the country’s most promising talent, with the finals witnessed by prominent dignitaries including Shri Jayant Chaudhary, Minister of State for Skill Development & Entrepreneurship and Education; Ajay Singh, Chairman & MD of SpiceJet; Dr. Dhruv Galgotia, CEO of Galgotias University; and Olympic medalist Vijender Singh.

Boys’ Team Power Past Rivals

Haryana’s boys’ squad captured 4 gold, 2 silver and 6 bronze medals to secure the championship title with 47 points. Services, despite bagging 5 golds, finished second with 38 points, while Uttar Pradesh claimed third place with 34 points.

Leading Haryana’s charge were standout performances from Ravi Sihag (49–52kg) and Sanchit Jayani (55–58kg), both clinching gold in commanding fashion.

Girls’ Squad Mirror the Glory

In the girls’ competition, Haryana again topped the table with 5 gold, 4 silver and 5 bronze medals (57 pts), followed by Services (42 pts) and Punjab (33 pts). Champions for Haryana included Garima (35–37kg), Princi (49–52kg), Sunaina (58–61kg), Jivika (61–64kg), and Radhika Sharma (67–70kg).
