Sainik School Kalikiri Girls Shine as Runners-Up in Prestigious National Hockey Tournament

Sainik School Kalikiri Girls Shine as Runners-Up in Prestigious National Hockey Tournament

Karnataka : The girls’ hockey team of Sainik School Kalikiri proudly secured the runner-up position in the Junior Girls (U-17) category at the All India Sainik Schools Group H Hockey Championship held from June 9 to 13, 2025. The championship took place at Sainik School Kodagu, featuring spirited participation from premier Sainik Schools including Kazhakootam, Amaravathinagar, Kalikiri, and the host Kodagu, with around 180 cadets competing across Junior Boys, Junior Girls, and Sub-Junior Boys categories.

While Sainik School Kazhakootam emerged as the overall champions by clinching the title in the Junior Boys category and performing strongly across other events, Sainik School Kalikiri’s girls demonstrated exceptional skill and discipline, finishing second in the Junior Girls group and third overall in the championship.

The tournament was marked by high competitiveness and sportsmanship, cementing Sainik School Kalikiri’s reputation as a strong contender in national-level hockey. Their performance highlighted the team’s dedication and potential to achieve greater success in future tournaments.
