Paris, France – Slovenian cycling sensation Tadej Pogacar has further cemented his legacy in the sport, securing his fourth career Tour de France title after the final stage concluded in Paris. The 2025 victory adds to his previous triumphs in 2020, 2021, and 2024, confirming his status as one of the most dominant Grand Tour riders of his generation.
A Commanding Victory Over Rivals
Pogacar concluded the grueling three-week race with a comfortable margin in the general classification. He finished a significant 4 minutes and 24 seconds ahead of two-time Tour champion Jonas Vingegaard, who secured second place. German rider Florian Lipowitz rounded out the podium, finishing 11 minutes adrift of Pogacar, highlighting the Slovenian’s superior form throughout the race.
Unyielding Spirit on the Final Stage
Even with the overall victory effectively sealed, Pogacar’s relentless competitive spirit was on full display during the 21st and final stage into Paris. Despite organizers neutralizing times 50 kilometers from the end due to heavy rain and the risk of crashes on the wet streets, Pogacar attacked fiercely on the Montmartre climbs. His tremendous pace underscored his desire to finish the Tour on a high note, even as he had already secured the yellow jersey.
The final stage itself was won by Belgian powerhouse Wout van Aert, who surprisingly managed to drop Pogacar on the steepest section of the Montmartre hill to claim the stage victory. Nevertheless, the day belonged unequivocally to Pogacar, who rolled into Paris celebrating yet another remarkable achievement in his burgeoning career.
