Bhubaneswar : Hockey India is set to commemorate a century of Indian hockey with a grand nationwide festival on November 7, 2025, featuring 1,000 simultaneous matches—one men’s and one women’s—in every district across the country. This massive celebration will engage over 36,000 players, showcasing India’s rich hockey heritage and the sport’s unifying spirit. The event underscores the passion that hockey continues to inspire nationwide, aiming to bring communities together in honor of this historic milestone.
Alongside the festival, Hockey India has announced significant financial grants to strengthen both national and grassroots-level events. Grants include Rs 70 lakh each for the Senior National Championships (men and women), Rs 30 lakh each for junior and sub-junior national championships, and Rs 25 lakh for each state to support district and state competitions. These funds aim to improve infrastructure, enhance event quality, and expand participation by alleviating financial barriers for emerging players, coaches, and officials. This initiative reflects Hockey India’s commitment to honoring the past while investing in the future growth of the sport across the country.
