Scotland : Indian golfer Aditi Ashok concluded her campaign at the Amundi Evian Championship with a tied-28th finish after a tough final round on Sunday. Despite being in contention for a top-10 spot through the week, Aditi faltered on the last day, carding a two-over 73 to end with a total score of five-under 279.
Aditi began her final round with a steady run of nine consecutive pars but then hit a rough patch, bogeying four holes in a row. This sequence dashed her hopes of climbing into the top-10, having started the day tied for 12th place. She managed to recover slightly with birdies on the 17th and 18th holes, but the late surge was not enough to offset the earlier setbacks.
This result marks Aditi’s second-best finish at the Evian Championship, following her tied-17th performance last year. Notably, she was the only Indian golfer in the field this week, as Diksha Dagar narrowly missed qualifying but is set to compete at the AIG Women’s Open later this month.
The championship was won by Australia’s Grace Kim, who claimed her first major title after a dramatic playoff victory over world number two Jeeno Thitikul at the Evian Resort Golf Club.
The Ladies European Tour will now take a brief break before heading to Scotland for the ISPS HANDA Scottish Open at Dundonald Links from July 24 to 27.
