Bhubaneswar : Bhubaneswar’s rising shooting star, Kashika Pradhan, has been selected to represent India in the women’s 10 m air rifle event at the upcoming ISSF World Cup 2025 in Ningbo, China, scheduled from September 7 to 15.
At just 23 years old, Kashika, a trainee at the Odisha Aditya Birla Gagan Narang Shooting High Performance Centre in Bhubaneswar, is set to make her international debut and chase Olympic qualification points at one of the world’s premier shooting events.
From her gold-winning performance at the National Shooting Championship in Bhopal last year in the 50 m rifle three-position event, to standout results at the National Selection Trials in Dehradun, Kashika has earned a coveted spot on the Indian squad.
Post-selection, she plans to intensify training from the third week of July under coaches Purusottam Panga (Bhubaneswar) and Neha Chavan (Chennai). Balancing her athletic aspirations, she is also pursuing a Chartered Accountancy course.
Since her first medal at the Odisha State Championship in 2015, Kashika has benefited from support by Olympic Gold Quest, Odisha’s Sports & Youth Services Department, and world-class training facilities. She expressed her gratitude and determination to deliver her best on the international stage.
