The Indian junior women’s hockey team is all set to kick off its European tour as part of their international campaign, with five matches lined up between June 8 and 17. During the tour, they’ll face strong opponents including Belgium, Australia, and the Netherlands.
The tour begins in Antwerp, where India will play three matches against Belgium at the Hockey Center of Excellence, Wilrijkse Plein. From there, they’ll head to Kontich to take on Australia at the Beerschot Tennis Hockey Padel Club. The final leg of the tour will see them clash with the Netherlands at Hockey Club Kampong in Utrecht.
This European outing comes on the heels of a competitive showing in Argentina at the Four Nations Tournament in Rosario. There, the Indian squad defeated Uruguay twice (3-2 and 2-2, winning the shootout 3-1), battled Chile with a 2-1 win and a narrow shootout loss after a 2-2 draw, and split results with hosts Argentina — securing a 1-1 (2-0 SO) win and a 2-4 defeat.
These matches are all part of India’s buildup to the FIH Hockey Women’s Junior World Cup 2025, set to take place in Santiago, Chile, this December.
