On the women’s side, Iga Swiatek staged a gutsy comeback against Elena Rybakina, winning 1-6, 6-3, 7-5 to keep her dream of a fourth straight Roland Garros title alive. The World No. 1, now on a 25-match winning streak at the tournament, will take on Elina Svitolina in the quarters.
Elsewhere, Italy’s Lorenzo Musetti continued his strong clay form, ousting Holger Rune in four sets to set up a clash with Frances Tiafoe. The American reached his first French Open quarterfinal with a straight-sets win over Daniel Altmaier.
